In 1992 as missionaries
for the church of Christ in Kenya several of us developed a program of
distance learning. This program is built around the idea of the printed
word being used to teach and mature church leaders as well as reach out
to the lost of Africa. With the help of nineteen missionaries, both
active and retired we were able to developed a 34 course correspondence
course program. The program was originally called "Leadership Training
by Extension" or "LTE", but was later changed to the title of "African
Christian Literature Outreach" but due to the acceptance and expansion
in the past few years we now call the program World Christian
Literature Outreach. This program is offered completely free of charge
to anyone who asks for it. At the present we have over 3,000 full time
students with over 25,000 courses mailed. We are currently sending
courses many African countries, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa,
Zaire, Malawi and Tanzania as well as the Island nations of Madagascar
and the Philippines. Besides these courses we also print tracts, song
books and other teaching materials for use by our brothers and sisters
around the world.
